RUGBY

Rugby union is a team sport that originated in England and is now played all over the world. It is a code of rugby football, which means that it involves two teams of fifteen players each trying to score points by carrying, passing, kicking and grounding an oval-shaped ball. The game is fast-paced and exciting, with lots of physical contact between players. Players must use their strength, speed and agility to outwit their opponents and score tries (touchdowns). Rugby union is a great way to stay fit and have fun with friends!

Rugby is a tough sport that demands a lot from a player. Players are required to give physical and mental commitment to practice and play every day. This can lead to long-term injuries, both mental and physical, including head injuries. We are lucky to have Dr. Chris Geddes , a sports psychologist who has worked with national teams, clubs and individual players, offering his advice on staying in peak mental shape through the season.
